What is the purpose of the workshop?

The purpose of the workshop is to train teachers in Nepal for earthquake and its mechanism in detail, and also for better preparedness of students and the population.

When and where the workshop is going to be held?

2076 Baisakh 3-4 B.S. (16-17 April 2019 A.D.) in Pokhara.

How many participants are expected?

Number of participants is limited, 100 participants at maximum. Out of this, about 70 participants are from the 22 schools already participating in the Seismology-at-School in Nepal program. 

Do I need to pay for registration?

For the 22 so-far selected schools in the program, the registration, accommodation and fooding is covered by sponsors. For other participants, the registration fee is 2000 NPR including meals and accommodation.

Who is able to attend the workshop?

The workshop is focused for teachers but students of physics, geology, computer and related subjects from university also can attend the workshop.

Who is going to speak?

Five keynote speakers in the field of seismology and educational seismology are invited. Please see their names in the announcement. There will be lots of time for discussion.
